Participants will work on-site for 12 hours, guided by experts and supported by resources throughout the day.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a896cf elementor-hidden-desktop elementor-hidden-tablet elementor-hidden-mobile elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1a896cf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Event Structure<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c3995b9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c3995b9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 1.6; color: #222; padding: 20px;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Competition is open for Teams comprising of Tertiary Level students, currently enrolled in any registered University or Tertiary Institution in Mauritius<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The rules for the Competition set the conditions for participation in the competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">They are designed to ensure fairness, originality, and responsible use of AI tools by all teams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">All participants are expected to read and comply fully with these rules before submitting their work<\/p>\n\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\">\n \t<li><u> General <\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n \t<li>Participants must be Students enrolled in registered Tertiary Institutions of Mauritius.<\/li>\n \t<li>The Team shall comprise between 3 to 5 persons with 1 member designated as Team Leader<\/li>\n \t<li>All communication will be done via the email and\/or mobile of the Team Leader<\/li>\n \t<li>All team members must take part and contribute in the production of the video.<\/li>\n \t<li>Teams are responsible for setting rules of meetings, conducting research, dividing the work load equally, submit reports while respecting deadlines<\/li>\n \t<li>Participants will use their own devices (PC, Laptop, camera and sound equipment)<\/li>\n \t<li>Participants will attend live and online Briefing meeting(s), set by Organisers<\/li>\n \t<li>Register \/ Subscribe, and Pay if needed, for AI or Other Tools and Platforms<\/li>\n \t<li>Both Free or Pro or Subscribed tools are allowed; Choice of using Free or Pro will not affect the scoring or marking evaluation by Jury Members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"2\">\n \t<li><u> The final submitted video should as far as possible abide by:<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n \t<li>Duration &#8211; maximum of 90 seconds.<\/li>\n \t<li>Language: English, French, or Creole for the AI generated voice, human voice over, captions<\/li>\n \t<li>Video must clearly match the main theme of the Competition<\/li>\n \t<li>Focus of project must be relevant problem area(s) for Road Safety in Mauritius.<\/li>\n \t<li>Resolution: High Definition \u2013 at least 1280 \u00d7 720 pixels (720p)<\/li>\n \t<li>Format: Landscape (16:9 aspect ratio)<\/li>\n \t<li>Have a Frame rate of 30 frames per second (fps)<\/li>\n \t<li>Properly captioned, titled and titled with necessary credits<\/li>\n \t<li>Uploading online in MP4 format \u2013 via tools such as Dropbox, Google, WeTransfer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"3\">\n \t<li><u> AI Tools: Participants must use AI tools in at least FOUR of the following areas:<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n \t<li>Storyline or script generation<\/li>\n \t<li>AI-generated images or video<\/li>\n \t<li>AI animation or motion<\/li>\n \t<li>AI voice-over or language tools<\/li>\n \t<li>AI music or sound generation<\/li>\n \t<li>Non-AI tools may also be used i.e. for video editing, special effects, music tracks<\/li>\n \t<li>Voice-overs can be AI-generated or recorded by a person<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"4\">\n \t<li><u> Originality, Integrity and Copyright: <\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n \t<li>Your video must be your own original work<\/li>\n \t<li>No plagiarism is allowed. All concepts must be original as far as possible.<\/li>\n \t<li>AI-generated content must be prompted and selected by the team<\/li>\n \t<li>Do not generate harmful, offensive, pornographic or misleading content or hatred message which could incite racial animosity or disrupt national peace<\/li>\n \t<li>Music must be AI-generated or royalty-free with no copyright<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"5\">\n \t<li><u> Work-in-Progress Portfolio of AI Video Production: <\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"text-align: left;\">To ensure the integrity of your entry, each team must submit a concise Portfolio documenting the creative process. The portfolio, submitted as PDF, slide deck, or as ZIP files must include, as far as possible, the 7 sections listed later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"6\">\n \t<li><u> Shortlisting &amp; Live Pitch<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n \t<li>A short-listing will be carried out by a Panel of Judges to retain the top 15 videos<\/li>\n \t<li>The top 15 teams will be invited to a live finale to pitch in for 5 minutes to the Jury Panel<\/li>\n \t<li>The pitch will give the Team an opportunity to explain their research, their main idea, how they used AI tools and the message behind the video<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"7\">\n \t<li><u> Decisions of Organisers and Jury Judges<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n \t<li>The decision of Organisers and Jury Judges shall be final<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"8\">\n \t<li><u> Use of Winning Videos<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n \t<li>The best videos may be used by Government for awareness campaigns<\/li>\n \t<li>The Ministry reserves the right to use the best videos in official public awareness campaigns, including on Social Media<\/li>\n \t<li>Full credit will be given to the Team and their original creation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\" start=\"9\">\n \t<li><u> Prizes, Certificates<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Interesting Prizes will be awarded to Winners and Runner Ups, including:\n<ul>\n \t<li>Prize Money for Winners:\n<ul>\n \t<li>1st Prize: Rs 50,000<\/li>\n \t<li>2nd Prize: Rs 40,000<\/li>\n \t<li>3rd Prize: Rs 30,000<\/li>\n \t<li>4th Prize: Rs 20,000<\/li>\n \t<li>5th Prize: Rs 10,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n \t<li>After the conclusion of the competition, the Mauritius Film Development Corporation (MFDC) will support the creative and professional journey of the Winners and Runners-up of the AI Competition by offering free admission to MFDC Masterclasses.<\/li>\n \t<li>Broadcast of the 5 best videos on national TV and social media platforms<\/li>\n \t<li>Certificates of Participation will be awarded to all participants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How the Hackathon Works The National Hackathon 2025 is an energising, full-day innovation sprint designed to bring diverse minds together to solve national challenges \u2014 without the need to stay overnight.
