
How the Hackathon Works
The National Hackathon 2025 is an energising, full-day innovation sprint designed to bring diverse minds together to solve national challenges — without the need to stay overnight. Participants will work on-site for 12 hours, guided by experts and supported by resources throughout the day.
Event Structure
Category A: Tertiary Level (Fast-Track)
Timeline: February 9 – March 20, 2026.
Participation: Open to 5 teams per University.
Format: 1-month intensive sprint culminating in a pitch session.
Category B: Secondary Level (Holiday Boot Camp)
Target: Grade 12 (Lower VI) students.
Timeline: April 2026 (First Semester School Holidays) to allow for proper Ministry of Education clearance.
Participation: 1 team of 3–5 students per secondary school.
Format: Regional 2-day boot camps followed by a submission period to ensure work is complete
